Save the Date: EURO-TITAN-REPTiS-AVANTiS Workshop at Euro PM2026
“Understanding the Titanium Value Chain:
indispensable for high quality and traceable applications”
The REPTiS project is pleased to announce the upcoming EURO-TITAN-REPTiS-AVANTiS workshop, which will be held during the EPMA Euro PM2026 European Congress and Exhibition on Powder Metallurgy in Budapest, Hungary. We invite you to book your schedule for 14 October 2026 (roughly 08:30 to 15:30) for this specialized, free event embedded within the main congress.
EURO-TITAN and AVANTiS are two Horizon Europe projects that share with REPTiS the focus on titanium as a Critical Raw Material for the EU, each one bringing in the equation its own set of solutions, concerning extraction, processing, or recovery, to foster EU’s resilience.
Understanding the Titanium Value Chain
Titanium is indispensable for high-quality, traceable applications across the industrial, aeronautic, automotive, and medical sectors. While Europe is a leading producer of titanium dioxide pigments and possesses significant primary resources in minerals like ilmenite, the region currently lacks domestic metal production (sponge and ingots). This workshop addresses the critical need for a continuous, reliable, and sustainable titanium supply to ensure a prosperous future for the European industry.
Workshop Focus and Objectives
The event will provide a comprehensive examination of the entire titanium value chain. Participants will explore strategies to reduce Europe’s import dependency through the low-carbon, responsible extraction of domestic resources, supporting a more resilient powder metallurgy sector.
The program is designed to develop personal skills and competencies through a series of lectures and panel discussions covering:
- Mining and Resources: Exploitation of primary minerals and secondary resources.
- Advanced Processing: Beneficiation challenges and “green” alternative processing methods.
- Refining and Optimization: Transitioning from sponges to alloys and powders, alongside predictive maintenance and in-line process optimization.
- Market and Sustainability: European market dynamics, closing the loop through recycling, and achieving a “Social License to Operate” (SLO) for European mining.
Target Audience and Registration
The workshop is specifically designed for young career scientists (Master and PhD students), as well as engineers from academia, government, and industry interested in metallic supply chains.
Attendance is free of charge, though formal registration is required. You may access the registration link here: Ti Workshop Euro PM2026.
(note: a registration – at least for entrance in the Euro PM2026 Exhibition, free of charge – will also be needed)
